UTM Link Shortener

Turn long tagged URLs into short, tidy links for social posts, SMS, print and QR codes. The UTM parameters are kept intact and every click is counted.

Short links are stored on this website so they can redirect. We count clicks per link; we do not store your IP address.

When to shorten a UTM link

Tagged URLs get long – 150 characters is common once source, medium, campaign and content are added. That is fine in an email button, but awkward in an SMS, a printed brochure, a podcast read-out or a QR code, where long links make dense codes that scan poorly. A short link hides the parameters without losing them: when someone clicks, they are redirected to the full tagged URL and analytics records the campaign as usual.

Short links also make reuse safer. Shorten each tagged URL once and share the short version everywhere that campaign runs; the same long URL always returns the same short link, so click counts stay together.

    How it works

    1. Build your link with the UTM builder (or paste one you already have).
    2. Press “Shorten”. The checker flags missing tags or broken structure before the link is saved.
    3. Copy the short link or generate a QR code for it.

Short links use a temporary (302) redirect, so browsers do not cache them and every click is counted. Both the short link and the destination keep working independently: if you ever stop using the short link, the tagged URL still tracks correctly.

    Link shortener FAQ

    Does shortening affect UTM tracking?

No. The short link redirects to the full tagged URL, and analytics reads the parameters from that URL as normal.

    Is there a limit?

To prevent abuse, each visitor can create a limited number of new short links per hour. Shortening the same URL again returns the existing link and does not count towards the limit.

    What do you store?

The destination URL, the creation time and the number of clicks. We do not store your IP address – only a one-way hash used for the hourly limit.
